How Long Should I Wear a Post-Surgical Bra?

The duration of post-operative bra use depends directly on your doctor’s recommendations, who will advise how long and how it should be worn based on the extent of the surgery.

Below are general guideline timeframes commonly recommended:

- After breast cancer surgery, it is usually worn for approximately 6 to 8 weeks.

- After cosmetic breast augmentation, reduction or lift, use is recommended for 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the procedure.

- As a general rule, bras should initially be worn day and night, and later only during the daytime as recovery progresses.

How to Calculate Your Post-Surgical Bra Size

If you have doubts when choosing the correct size, follow these steps to find the best fit for your body:

• First, measure your underbust circumference by measuring just below the bust.
• Next, measure your bust circumference at the fullest part of the breasts, at nipple level.
• Calculate the difference between both measurements to determine your cup size.

Example:

Underbust: 98 cm

Bust: 80 cm

98 − 80 = 18 cm, resulting in a C cup.

• Then use the size chart combining underbust and cup size.

Available in 6 sizes from S to 3XL. Due to post-surgical swelling or oedema, you may require 1–2 cup sizes more than usual. Your choice will depend on the level of compression desired.

Post-Surgical Sports Bra Care:

Fasten the Velcro before washing. Suitable for hand or machine wash. Chlorinated disinfectants may reduce durability and performance. If machine washing, place with similar colours inside a laundry bag. Do not iron.
