How Long Should I Wear a Post-Operative Sports Bra?
The length of time you should wear the post-operative bra will be indicated by your treating doctor depending on the extent of the surgery. Statistically, it ranges between 2 and 12 weeks. In the first weeks it is recommended to wear it both day and night, and later it may be worn during the day only.
For major procedures such as breast cancer, it is generally recommended for 6 to 8 weeks, and for cosmetic procedures such as augmentation, reduction or lift, for 2 to 6 weeks.
How to Calculate Your Wire-Free Post-Operative Bra Size
To make sure you choose the right sports bra size, you only need to know your underbust and bust measurements. Here are these simple steps:
- Find your underbust measurement by measuring just below the bust, i.e. around your body.
- Find your bust measurement by measuring the fullest part of the breasts at nipple level.
- This allows you to calculate the difference between the underbust and bust measurements to work out the cup size.
Here is a clear example:
Underbust: 98 cm
Bust: 80 cm.
cm 98-80= 18 cm, resulting in a C cup.
- Then, use the underbust size and cup size in the size chart.

We offer 5 sizes from S to 2XL. Due to possible swelling and oedema after surgery, you may need 1 to 2 cup sizes larger compared to your usual cup. Your decision will depend on whether you want more or less compression.
Care for the Bra for Mastectomies or Breast Augmentation:
It is recommended to close the zip before washing. Using chlorine disinfectants may reduce the durability and functionality of the product. Wash with similar colours in a wash bag.
Returns:
For safety and hygiene reasons, returns of bras and post-operative bands are accepted during the first 7 calendar days from delivery to your home address, provided the packaging is in perfect condition and the security seal has not been opened.
