Digital Oral Body Thermometer:

  • MATERIAL: Made of ABS plastic, a robust and durable material.

  • POWER: Operates on a LR41 button alkaline battery. Digital thermometers measure temperature by converting voltage variations through electronic circuits.

Digital Clinical Thermometer:

The medical thermometer is an essential instrument for healthcare professionals as well as for anyone, as it indicates whether the body temperature is low, normal or high – a reflection of overall health. A high reading may be a sign of a viral or infectious illness the body is fighting.

Digital thermometers are used in various medical centres, private clinics, care homes and geriatric facilities.

Body Temperature Monitor - Measurement Methods

The digital thermometer allows you to measure temperature in three different areas of the body. Below we outline each method and explain how to take the reading:

  • Armpit: Place the thermometer in the armpit, press the arm firmly against the body, and wait five minutes before reading the result.
  • Mouth: Position it under the tongue with your lips closing around it and breathe through your nose during the measurement. Keep it in place for 3 minutes. This method is the most practical and quickest.
  • Rectum: This is the most accurate method, although less comfortable. It is highly recommended for babies and young children. Lubricate the rectal thermometer with petroleum jelly, place the child face down on a flat surface, then separate the buttocks and insert the thermometer 1 to 2.5 centimetres into the rectal canal. Remove the thermometer after 3 minutes.

Child Thermometer:

It is important to know the fever ranges to determine the appropriate action in certain circumstances. Below is the measurement scale:

  • Between 37 and 38°C is considered a mild fever, but should be monitored every hour for proper follow-up.
  • Between 38 and 39°C, the fever is considered high, and a medical review is recommended.
  • Between 39 and 40°C or higher is considered dangerous and may indicate a serious infection. You should visit the emergency department as soon as possible. Other symptoms such as delirium or loss of consciousness may also occur.
