Insulin Syringe

Needle gauge is measured using the Gauge scale and refers to needle thickness or diameter; the higher the gauge, the finer the needle. The sterile disposable syringe is available with sizes of 26G x 1/2, 25G x 1 and 23G x 1 1/4.
- 26G x 1/2 syringe is used to take blood from a vein via venepuncture or cerebrospinal fluid in a lumbar puncture.
- 25G x 1 syringe needles have an approximate diameter of 0.5 millimetres, for intravenous, intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, and aspiration.
- 23G x 1 1/4 syringe, suitable for medical treatments via intravenous, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes.
